Highlights of my Spring Break trip to Colorado: (in no particular order)
- Grizzly Man-so yes, it is official, I am obsessed with this movie. I have already talked about if enough on this thing, but I did enjoy watching the movie AGAIN with mom and dad (who now officially think I am crazy). And you know what they say on the farm, if it doesn't scare the cows...who cares?
- Snowboarding-I hit the slopes on Tuesday at Copper Mountain and probably had the best day of the season. My nose is a bit sunburned because it was such a perfect day. New snow, freshly groomed, 35 degrees with no wind, and on one side of the mountain there were no lines. It was beautiful! I also met up with a friend from Baylor for part of the day...overall good times!
- Dancing with Mindi to "Real Thing"- I stayed at Mindi and Shaun's one night and had a great time the next morning eating a scrumptious breakfast while Mindi put on an old CD. World Wide Message Tribe...we laughed and reminisced about the good ol' days at DCLA!
- Finding t-shirt with Megan-Quite possibly the funniest thing I have ever seen was a t-shirt Megan and I found at Walmart. I was picking up some Colorado postcards when we saw this lovely pink t-shirt advertising the great state of Colorado. I'm not really sure what they were going for cause they had a profile of a horse leaning over kissing what looked like a digital picture of a kitten who was winking. Underneath it said "Colorado". I haven't laughed that hard in quite some time, and I mean really, nothing says "Colorado" like a pink shirt with a horse kissing a winking kitten. Man, I love Colorado.
- Yummy meal with Laur at Wes's restaurant-I got to eat at a nice restaurant in Cherry Creek that Wes helps manage and it was excellent. We got the works too...and it was good. If I could remember the name of the restaurant I would give a little shout out, but alas I cannot...
- Snow-It snowed two days that I was in Parker...hooray!
- Hearing about Rhonda, mom and dad's trip to Bolivia-they all got back from a visit to Randy early this month and it was fun to hear stories and see pictures of their adventure. This is a picture of Randy and an alpaca. Animals Rule!

Yay for Colorado! :) Sounds like you had an awesome time. I especially like the story about the t-shirt! That's halarious! The picture of Randy with the alpaca is pretty cool...the alpaca reminds me of the emporer's new groove...such a great movie! See you tonight!
“Sarah Kirksey... you married my best friend! So good to meet you... finally... through the web.
By the way, Emperor’s new Grove IS such a great movie (a little thanks out to the 12 ladies at the house Missy managed at George Fox who introduced me to the greatness). One of the great things about living here in Bolivia is that there are Alpaca and Llamas everywhere. I think it is important to take pictures of them when you can, because you never know when this opportunity might run out.
Are you kidding me? This is hand carved mahogany.
And number 2... look what I can do.
Hmmm... he's got a point.
(That's my shoulder angel).”
Thanks Randy for the inspiration to keep alpaca and llamas close to us.
Wow, I was going to leave a comment here, only to discover that I'm actually mentioned in a comment here! (one of the 12 house girls!) I wonder if Randy remembers me...I always kind of think of him as "the one who got away." :o) Ha, ha. Funny how you can say anything you want when you're in the Congo.
Llama face!
Love you Missy!
Randy, it's so good to meet you! :) Even if it is via the web. Nice work on "the Emp" lines...brings back such great college memories! some of my favorites are...
Easma! Put your hands up!
By all accounts, it just doesn't make sense.
Uhh, I've been turned into a cow, may I go home now?
Beware of the groove...
Thanks for the note, it totally made my day. Someday we'll all have to meet in person and then you can see your best friend again!
I'm so glad the love of my life and my best friend have finally met. This calls for something special... Missy will you join me in a rousing round of the offical song of the Great State of Montana?
'Montana, Montana glory of the west! From all the states from coast to coast, Montana your the best! Montana, Montana skies are always blue. M-O-N-T-A-N-A! Montana, we love you.' Now doesn't that just do your soul so much good. Throw in a lute, wash tub, and a brown jug and you've got yourself a band!
I wish the Colorado State song had a spelling part. Stinkin' Montanan's got everything!
C-O-L-O-R-A-D-O
Yes!
Yes!
It's true, it's true. Unfortunately not every one has the priviledge of being born and reared in God's Country... alas...
