Things have been a little crazy here getting ready for Steppin' Out this Saturday. Things seem to be coming together well except for the fact that it might rain on Saturday. Melissa and the rest of the committee and I may be doing a reverse rain dance later this week...please join us if you feel so inclined!
This weekend I had a nice little break from Steppin' Out which was very much needed! I went rock-climbing with three guys who go to seminary here at Truett: Drew, Tim and Jonathan. I have never been rock-climbing before and I have to admit i was a little nervous and intimidated because they all seemed to know what they were doing. I also didn't really understand any of the vocab they were using, but I think I picked it up pretty quick as the day went on.
I think I did alright going up the rock, the first time I went my legs were shaking so bad I was afraid I wouldn't actually be able to stand, let alone climb up a rock wall, but when I got down to the bottom, I was assured that it wasn't that uncommon to have "Elvis legs", especially as a beginner. The second time up I seemed to be a little better, so I felt better about that!
One of the funny things about rock-climbing in Texas, is that there are no mountains. So, where exactly did we go? We actually hiked down so that we could climb up...interesting! It was a beautiful day though, and I fully enjoyed spending time outside, in nature, away from Waco, with new friends, trying something new. I did enjoy it and I hope to go again sometime soon.
The day was also ended with something that reminded me of home! Chipotle! Oh how I heart Chipotle!

Elijah was a man just like us. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years.
Missy, I'm praying tonight for you earnestly as I walk from my house to where the team stayed for our 2 am to 5 am morning outreach. I'll pray that it will not rain on Texas for one day.
Rock climbing...mmmm, that does sound fun
