Dani and Randy and I went to the zoo on Sunday, and had the best zoo experience of our lives! Seriously...the Waco Zoo is amazing.
I am probably also slightly obsessed with animals.
Not only were we able to enjoy the antics of the long-armed Gibbon, but we heard a rhino fart (yes, I just used the word fart in a blog), saw a one-eyed bald eagle, noticed a sloth that did not move, at all, almost missed the dwarf antelope known as the Dik Dik, and played with an otter that really likes shiny objects. Here are some other pictures from the adventure!
This is large rodent found in South America. Probably bigger than a Nutria,
so that creeps me out enough! It definitely has a small monkey riding on its
back...
The pacing jaguar

The highlight of the day was the cute baby cubs...this guy came right up to the window to say hello...

Hmmm...maybe not!

Had the plexi-glass not had a smudge on it, I would have thought you were RIGHT there with the little kittens! Cute, absolutely adorable animals! What fun, never too old for the zoo I say!

Oh what fun! And I can say I experienced almost the same thing a few days prior, only somehow we missed the rhino 'expeling' air! It is indeed a wonderful zoo-glad we got to visit it - and you!! :)

God bless you
I miss you friend.
OK, just have to say that we have a monkey and it plays with the dog and rides on its back. I just had to let someone know that this is how bizarre my life is. I watched them playing together today and thought "Am I here right now?" I'm comforted to think that you were in the States and you saw a monkey riding on an animal's back too :o)
Isn't it shocking how good of a zoo it is... I mean we're talking Waco here people, Waco.
