Okay, okay....for any of you who have actually been reading these blogs all along, you are probably thinking...for the love, Miss...enough with the bears. We know, we know...there are live bears on campus at Baylor...whoop de doo!
And you are probably right if you are thinking that...I probably do need to let it go, but for some reason I have been obsessed with animals (not just bears) this week. As I announced in our staff meeting today (I don't know what I was thinking) "I have a weird fettish with animals these days". I mean, really, who says something like that in front of important people, aka, the boss. Seriously...
But, I did say it because there was some truth to it. I think it may have started with a visit to an animal shelter on Friday, but really I think it was this bear show I watched on the Discovery channel on Saturday. I am a bit ashamed to say that I sat and watched this show for almost 2 hours (when my roommates kindly asked if they could have the tv back to watch a movie) It was this crazy show called "Grizzly man" about this guy who spent 8 summers up in the Alaska living with grizzly bears in an effort to gain some sort of animal rights. In the end, he ended up being eaten by the grizzly bears, but the show was seriously crazy. I think the man was a bit crazy too...he thought he was a bear, he thought he had a secret language with the bears, but apparantly he forgot how to communicate with them there towards the end...when they ate him.
Anyway, this is really a random blog and I don't know exactly where I'm going with it, other than the fact that I might move up to Alaska to live with the bears. But then I remembered that the last time I spent any time in the wilderness where there were actual wild bears, I was so scared that I didn't sleep the whole night and I couldn't even go to the bathroom (you just never know when they might sneak up on you!..and that could be real awkward!) It made for a quick run back to base camp though.
I guess I should take some baby steps for now and just stick to the zoo or Baylor!
Have I mentioned that there are live bears on campus?

Lady and Joy are amazing and I think you can talk about them as much as you want! Not everyone gets to walk out of their office everyday and watch two adorable bears play, you are just being appreciative. Also, there is another documentary about grizzly bears that Brad Pitt did. I watched it with Cassondra when she first moved in. Point being.... animals are good... fetish not so wierd... that is all...
I think the fetish with animals started a little before that one birthday when you fell asleep in the bathroom. As I recall, you had a room completely decked out (maybe filled to overflowing would be a better description) in kitty cats. Wallpaper, bedspreads, stuffed animals, and hundreds of other cat things. Then you got a real cat: Gizmo. What a great cat name, and what a great movie (Grimlens). We loved Gizmo (until his poor eye came out).
Anyways, just trying to help you trace the history of this fetish.
Hey bear. Heeeeeeey bear.
Yes, now I now how to spell fetish
