Christmas has officially arrived here at Baylor University! Today we are celebrating a tradition called Christmas on 5th Street. We have a Christmas Tree Lighting, Hay Rides, Concert with Shawn McDonald, Cookie Decorating, Hot Cocoa, live nativity, lights everywhere and just overall holiday cheer. It has been fun to walk around campus (and today it is cold enough to actually need to wear a FLEECE!) which makes me feel like its Christmas too!
Tomorrow I have the final event for my community service position, Santa's Workshop. We bring in 3-5 year olds from the Waco community who probably won't get any Christmas gifts this year. Santa makes an appearance along with Mrs. Claus, we have some Christmas activities and singing! Clifford the Big Red Dog is also going to be there. I wanted to play the role of Clifford, but when I tried on the suit everyone said I looked more like Clifford the miniature Red Dog, so I had to give it up to someone else!
I'm sure I'll have some more pics after tonite...but wanted to spread some of the Christmas cheer I was feeling today. I know it is all very commercialized but it has still been a fun atmosphere on campus!

I made Missy eat a bug,
Bought some gum with a penny slug,
Somebody snitched on me!
Oh I'm gettin' nothin' for Christmas,
Mommy and Daddy are mad
I'm gettin' nothin' for Christmas
Cause I ain't been nothin' but bad!
Just wanted to turn back the clock to the good old days of Christmas. Remember when you and I made Mom and Dad Santa caps? Or how about when Santa used to visit us at the house... scared me to death! Remember the classic messy/obstacle course games of Double Dare with our cousins in Weslaco, TX, or the wonderful Guatemalan meal on Christmas Eve... with special guest appearance of "The Sacred Heart of Jesus". Or how about that time Brandy crapped all over the mudroom... oh wait that was Halloween! :)
My email has not been working for a couple weeks now, so I'll use this blog technology to let you know how much I'm going to miss you this Christmas. Finish the semester strong, and then thoroughly enjoy a Classic Colorado Christmas with the family... enough for you and I both! Love you sis!
