Steppin' Out Shout Out!

Here's a cute photo of Melissa and I at the baseball game for our Steppin' Out retreat...
She is so great!

I would just like to take some time to give a little shout out to two of my favorite students at Baylor. I have already talked about Melissa a lot. She has been the director for Steppin' Out this last year and is utterly phenominal. Not only has she lead two semesters of successful service projects, but has brought together a team of students (and advisors) who knew nothing about the Steppin' Out project, and has made it a team of people who love being around each other. I made the bold proclamation that she is my favorite Texan and that says a lot! She is graduating this year and it will be a sad day for me when she leaves...

Melissa's replacement for next year is a student who was on the committee this year, Ben. He is going to do a phenominal job, I can already tell, and the fact that he can already put up with my crazy stories, and that he's quick to join in to a game of Shoe-Looky suggests that it is going to a good year ahead! Mostly I am excited because he made a drawing for me...really I think it says it all!

Most days I seriously cannot believe that this is my job. I get to hang out with these great students, laugh a lot, and participate in great events like Steppin' Out. (And I mean, really, look at the perks...I get to be a Cap'n!)

Hey you cheated!

Pirate!

That might not makes sense, and so to keep with the theme, I might just as well throw out something else from Pirates of the Caribbean:

Da daa da da da daaa da da da daaa da da daaaa.

Wish we could see the next Pirates movie together. If you want to wait, I can bring a pirated version of it on DVD back with me this fall. The irony that it would be, and the fun to be had.

Tell Ben and Melissa that they want to be my interns someday too!
